Vintage leather cowboy roper boot. This pair of beautifully preserved russet brown leather roper boots in a classic pull on style, was made in the usa exclusively by red wing shoes & boots. This is a versatile roper boot with universal appeal. Designed to be practical, sturdy and stylish. The boot is fashioned with a 10 shaft, double reinforced pull tabs and round toe box. The vamp is left unadorned in order to showcase the ultra-soft, hand-burnished calfskin leather. Black vertical seam piping completes the sophisticated look. The sole is leather and the heel is shorter than that of a traditional cowboy boot with a rubber heel cap added to prevent wear and tear to the all leather stack heel. General scuffs and slight wear to the leather from a few gently used wearings. Size & measurements approximate fit us men’s size 10. Woman’s size 11.5. Approximate style age 1980’s. Ball of foot: about 3.5. Calf opening: about 15.5. Can go with many different styles of fashion. Colors may vary a bit on different monitors and in different lights. These are a 1950s pair of gorgeous justin boots, barely worn, with the original box, hang tag and repair order leaflet it says on the box that the vamp is sharkskin. I don’t actually know if it is real sharkskin or just stamped leather – i have never seen/touched real sharkskin leather before – but either way, these are very rare and unusual and gorgeous. The sharkskin has a very textured, rippled feel. It seems genuine to me, since the pattern on each boot is distinct. 4-row gorgeous flame-like red stitching on the smooth black shafts. Stacked heels – the box says long base, walking – and hobnail soles with round toes. These have definitely been worn a few times, but are in phenomenal vintage condition. There is wear to the soles and slight heel cap wear. They’re kinda dusty right now, but i plan to give them a good cleaning and shine with proper leather care products when they sell. The box is not in great condition – one end of the lid is torn at the corners and flapping, and there’s a general beat-up-ness to it, plus some pencil writing in a couple spots. The tag and leaflet are in good condition with some fading. These are my size. No, i’m not keeping them. Keeping them, that is. They’re for sale. Label: justin boot co. Material: cowhide leather, sharkskin, rubber heel cap. Vintage condition: very good (from a pet and smoke free home). Measurements are taken flat and doubled where necessary. These are marked mens’ size 7.5, and will fit a size 9 womens. Outer sole length: 12. Width at ball: 4. Width at arch: 3. Height at arch: 4. Shaft + counter height: 12.5 (box says 13). Height with heel: 13.5. Collar (boot opening): 13. When i can’t, i take care to note and photograph flaws, and price things accordingly.
